Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Ellis

Kenneth Wayne Ellis, 84, of Rockville passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019, Union Hospital, Terre Haute. He was born December 9, 1934 in Ridge Farm, IL to Everett Ellis and Mabel Kendall Ellis.

In December 1961, he married Margaret Fry Oakes and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Carol (Richard) Antoni of California and son, Steve (Ruedell) Oakes of Lafayette, IN. Surviving are 4 grandchildren: Alexa Sciondra and Diondra Antoni of California; Brent (Amanda) Oakes of Rossville, IN and Neil Oakes of Terre Haute. There are 4 Great Grandchildren: Tieson, Alicia, Cayden and Spencer Oakes. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson.

Ken received a BS degree from the University of Illinois and worked for Kraft Foods, Marshall, IN for 4 years. He then retired after several years, from the University of California where he was an Administrator. He was an antique car and tractor enthusiast and a member of several antique car clubs. He was also involved in several community activities including Billie Creek Village.

Graveside services for family and close friends will be on Tuesday, September 24 at 11:00 AM at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville.
